The Bristol Cycling Development Squad is based in the Bristol area, Our aim is to introduce and support children 5-16 to try and develop themselves into better cyclists of all standards and across all disciplines.
The club’s current focus is to introduce 5 -12 year olds to the sport of cycling by delivering regular coaching sessions based on British Cycling’s Go-Ride initiative in a safe traffic-free environment. We currently have access to 4 locations in Bristol where we can develop the rider’s bike handling skills, Sessions take place on Sunday mornings on a fortnightly basis. For details of each session please check the calendar section on this website.
More information on the Go-Ride initiative can be found at: https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/go-ride?c=EN
Membership. Riders are required to join the club if they wish to take part in our activities. Annual membership is £20. In most cases there are no additional fees to participate in the individual sessions. However, if the club has to pay to hire the facility (eg Odd Down & Maindy), members may be asked to contribute a small amount to help cover the costs of the facility hire. Potential members can join in a taster session before committing to joining the club.
