Yer Tiz is a blue-grade (moderate) mountain bike trail within Leigh Woods, offering a fun, flowy route for riders.
Rider Ability: While this is a relaxed social ride, it takes place on blue-graded off-road singletrack. Riders (including kids and adults) should be confident handling off-road terrain — a good gauge is being able to comfortably ride a few full laps of a local BMX track.
With Yer Tiz having recently benefited from a £200,000 resurfacing project from Forestry England, its suitable for most bikes such as gravel, hybrid and mountain bikes so there’s never been a better time to experience this locally beloved trail for yourself!
We plan to park on North Road and meet near the entrace to the woods. Please park carefully along North Road and watch for passing traffic when unloading bikes. We recommend you wait by the entrance area on the other side of the fence from the road. FYI : Mobile phone signals are bad in this area so you may need to pay for yr parking in the woods.
Kit recommendation: To help prevent bramble scratches and grazes on the singletrack, long sleeves and full-length trousers are recommended for kids where practical (weather permitting!).
The ride is mostly flat with one short climb from the North Road entrance.
Half way around there is a small jump spot to practice jumps or grab a coffee. The jumps are all rollable.
